Why The Battle Over Prayer At High School Sporting Events Is Getting More Intense

As I've mentioned previously, the U.S. Supreme Court -- well, a previous version, not this group of nine -- made it very clear that school-led or sanctioned prayers at public high school sporting events are verboten. Numbers from recent surveys show why, despite a marked decline in religious identification among Americans, these overt, organized expressions of faith in school sports continue. Basically, it has something to do with the marked decline in religious identification among Americans.
